CAIRNS FESTIVAL 2025 || Merrick Watts: An Idiot's Guide To Wine

Merrick Watts is bringing his smash hit show An Idiot’s Guide to Wine to Cairns as part of Cairns Festival 2025!

Merrick is a qualified wine specialist who judges at prestigious wine shows around the country, he also has an incredible number of qualifications in being an idiot. This show is a celebration of his two great loves, wine and comedy.

Each audience member tastes six great wines, handpicked by Mez, that showcase the very best of the Australian wine industry. Along the way Merrick will make snack match recommendations, give tasting notes, and of course make plenty of jokes.

The show has toured to major festivals across the country, and overseas, and thousands of people have claimed to have learnt something about wine in the process, but Merrick swears that must be coincidental.
